Webelos

When a boy is in the 4th or 5th grade, he can join as a Webelo. Webelo scouts do some of the fun activities the younger scouts do. In addition, the Webelo scout starts learning more outdoor skills. The Webelo program is a transition from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. During the second year of the Webelo program, scouts start the gradual change from a totally adult-led program to a scout-led program. The scouts start to make some decisions regarding their activities, training and even adventures or outings. Toward the end of the Webelo program, the scouts start visiting Boy Scout troops and even attending Boy Scout campouts. If, by the end of the Webelo progam the scout has completed all the requirements, the Webelo earns his Arrow of Light AND can “Cross The Bridge” and become a full-fledged Boy Scout.
